Biography

Since obtaining her university degree in 1990, she has been working at the Modern Hungarian Language Department of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, currently as a habilitated associate professor. Her main field of research is functional pragmatics, she mainly focuses on the phenomena of deixis. She is interested in all types of deixis (space, time, social, discourse deixis). She also deals with functional grammar, especially verb constructions and questions of Hungarian orthography. She works as an editor of several Hungarian linguistic journals. She has more than 180 publications, including books and studies. She is a regular participant in international pragmatic conferences.
